About Our School
Who says Hebrew School can't be fun?
Congregations of Shaare Shamayim is committed to providing high quality Jewish education in the most creative, exciting, and intellectually stimulating manner possible. More than just a school, we are creating indelible Jewish memories.
Our goal is to provide a true Judaic foundation and to inspire our children with a love of Judaism relevant to their lives. The school provides a variety of learning experiences accommodating the many different learning styles of our students.
We embrace a variety of venues and opportunities for learning, both inside and outside the Religious School setting. Our programs create a clear progression of age-appropriate learning from age six to adolescence, and build toward a mature and informed participation in Jewish life and in the community.
Curriculum
Shaare Shamayim's professional staff provides our children with a strong foundation in:
- Prayer book Hebrew
- Jewish ritual life, including celebration of Shabbat and holidays
- Historical and other Jewish narratives
We bolster our students' ability towards critical thinking. We expose our children to text study as a central form of Jewish learning, and build connections between Jewish values and the challenges and opportunities of their daily lives.
