Cardonick Preschool and Kindergarten

Our preschool and kindergarten is a fun and very busy place to be during the day. We look forward to the many special people who share their day with us providing our school with our music class, Israeli dance class, and our aerobics class.  We celebrate Shabbat {day of rest}, on Fridays with our beloved Cantor Samuels who high {chai}-fives every child and adult present in our small chapel.  We share special times with our Rabbi making fruit smoothies for Tu B’Shevat and we have built an actual forest in our lobby area for Tu B’Shevat.   We made homemade matzos for Passover, and learned about the oil lamps from thousands of years ago. We welcome Brushie the Clown and Segal Puppet Theater who teach us about dental health, visits from the Pa. Academy for Fine Arts, important lessons from the B.A.B.E.S program, petting zoos featuring special needs animals, and many other special presentations. We love sharing favorite activities with our families such as Chanukah Game Day, Secret Shop, Chanukah Show, Special Person’s Day, Purim Show, Passover Show and Seder food tasting, our school wide trip to Israel in one day, and our annual Family Fun Day. This year is Israel’s 60th birthday and we will be celebrating with music, food, art, and a big birthday party!

On Fridays-regular size or mini pretzels may be ordered during the week for classroom delivery.  Some chose to purchase the pretzels as a special snack for the class or to bring home to share with the family after school.

Developing a love of books and stories is a sure way to help children learn to read.  Each month our children can order from a list of books from Scholastic to promote reading.  In May each year we hold a book fair where parents, grandparents and of course the children can purchase books for themselves or for gifts.

Usually the first opportunity for children to purchase holiday gifts for their families, this activity is one of the most exciting days in our school.  The boys always seem to gravitate to jewelry gifts for their moms!  The girls like everything pink!
