Celebrate your faith with Congregations of Shaare Shamayim, a community synagogue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Come and join our family to connect with Hashem, the local community, Israel, and members with shared interests.
A Caring Congregation
Welcome to Congregations of Shaare Shamayim—the oldest traditional synagogue in Philadelphia. Our more than 600 families enjoy the option of both traditional, conservative (full women's participation on the bima), and junior services, along with thriving preschool, kindergarten, and religious school programs. This includes creative activities for all ages and interests, as well as political action/speakers of interest to the extended Jewish Community. Additionally, we offer a men's club, as well as a youth group.
One congregation with a service option for everyone! We invite you to join us every Shabbat, daven in the service of your choice and celebrate Shabbat as a united congregation with a lovely Shabbat Kiddush. Aliyah and Torah honors are available in either service. Call the Synagogue office at (215) 677-1600 to arrange an Aliyah for your upcoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah, AufRuf, Baby Naming, Yahrzeit, etc.
